I’m Diana Demco.
I write about attention, culture, education, and the ideas that quietly shape how we live.

I’m interested in the gap between what we’re told makes a good life and what actually feels meaningful — between usefulness and meaning, effort and ease, attachment and detachment, the life we plan and the one that actually happens. A lot of my writing starts there.
I read widely, take a lot of notes, and usually start writing when I find a question I can’t quite leave alone. This site is where those questions become essays.
I’m originally from Romania and live in Czechia. Away from the page, I’m usually reading, walking somewhere, cooking something, or accumulating more questions than I manage to answer.
